about

Metal Percussion music, MPm 16 - Impromptus in Four and Three Parts. The Hard, basic surfaces of the top floor landing of my former Apartment block - a wonderful spacious acoustic. A chair, recording kit and a quiet August afternoon 2017. I am moving - packing to go and have acquired a large, heavy cardboard case. Too narrow to pack much in but in this acoustic it made for a wonderful 'Found Instrument' - my equivalent of Markus Wenninger's 'Found Scores'. I am recording a number such sessions to document my leaving for pastures green, in the countryside nearby. These Impromptus - in Four and Three parts - are drawn from this moment in opportune. The Impromptu - Rh 505 is from a third tape and Zumph - Rh 507 is from the first - deliciously short at 20 something seconds. Sideways Longstep - Rh 506 is another documentary recording on some kind of packing tube - another moment in opportune on another found instrument.
